April Wrap Up

Sorry this is a few days late but I've been ultra busy! I literally cannot believe how fast April went by if I'm honest. It seemed like it was over in a flash. If anything this year is going by too quickly (although I do say that every year).

April was a pretty normal month for me. I had some lovely days with my boyfriend, James. We went to Oxford Street on one of our days out and I finally got to go into the flagship Lush store and it was amazing! I am thinking of doing a blog post about my favourite Lush products in the next few weeks for anyone who is interested. I am so obsessed with that company. My parents also went away for a few days in the middle of the month so I had the house to myself (well James came down for a few days) and although I did enjoy the peace, I was happy when they came back.

Work also got slightly better during April. I have been moved from Admin to a Price Integrity Assistant and it seems like it's going to be my kind of job. I'm also counting down the months until I go back to University to do my MA in Creative, Digital and Professional Writing. Only four more months to go! I'm getting so excited already.

Books I've Read/Reviewed

April has been mainly about me reading on my Kindle, but I did manage to read/review a few print copies as well. I managed to read seven books during April and most of them were on my TBR list so I'm happy. The books I read/reviewed are:

Death House by Carole Avila
Eve's Amulet Book 1 by Carole Avila
The Weekend Wives by Christina Hopkinson
White Raven (Raven #1) by J.L. Weil
Painting Sky by Rita Branches
Desolation (Demon Road #2) by Derek Landy
The Drought (Sex, Love and Dating Disasters #1) by Steven Scaffardi

Most of these books I really did enjoy!

April Book Haul

I had a fair few authors contact me during the month asking if I'd like to review their books. I also got a few ARC's come through the post so I haven't really brought any books, but I'm going to count them anyway. The books I received in April were:

Hello, Goodbye, and Everything Inbetween by Jennifer E Smith
The Second Love of my Life by Victoria Walters
EVO Nation by K.J Chapman
EVO Shift by K.J Chapman
The Flood (Sex, Love and Dating Disasters #2) by Steven Scaffardi
Clash of Worlds by Philip McClennan
The Reflections of Queen Snow White by David Meredith
Changers, Book Two Oryon by Allison Glock-Cooper and T. Cooper
The Wolf in the Attic by Paul Kearny

Some of these are on my May TBR list and the ones that aren't I will definitely be reading during June. I am hoping to have major reading sessions in the near future.

May Plans

I have a few things planned for May which I'm excited about. I have a gig that I am going to with James for one, and I'm really looking forward to it. We're seeing a band called Coldrain which we both love. I also have a week off work at the end of the month and James is coming to visit and we are also going to London Comic Con. I've been many times and I never get bored of it, it is so awesome and I love seeing all the cosplayers and the atmosphere is brilliant.

I am also hoping to get through my May TBR list so I can start accepting book requests again. I've had to stop for the moment as I don't want my list to get any bigger.

I may also start getting a few bits of university, but we shall see.

Hope you all have an amazing May!
