It's Monday! What Are You Reading? #7

Hosted by The Book DateIt's Monday! What Are You Reading? Is a weekly meme where you share what you have recently read, what you are currently reading and what is up next on your TBR list. I have been in a bit of reading slump lately due to a new job and uni work but I am slowly getting out of it and I do have some books to share this week!

Read Last Week

I'm going to be honest, I went into Carve the Mark feeling very skeptical due to all the controversy surrounding it. It was an okay read but it was nothing special. I didn't think it needed to be nearly 500 pages long. However, I loved the character building within the book and the main protagonists Cyra and Akos were really likeable. Review here.

Currently Reading

I'm really into YA Fantasy at the moment so I have a feeling I am going to love The Waking Land. It sounds like it's going be a really magical, spellbinding read set in a mysterious world. I can't wait to devour it.

Up Next

I read Lisa's last book Paper Butterflies last year and loved it, so I can't wait to delve into Flight of a Starling. Just going by the synopsis it sounds like it is going to a pleasure to read. Also, I love Lisa's writing style.

Have a good week all!

  2. Most books over 300 pages feel to me like they could be much, much shorter. But that's just me.
