Whatever you've heard about Caraval, it doesn't compare to the reality. It's more than just a game or a performance. It's the closest you'll ever find to magic in this world . . .

Welcome, welcome to Caraval―Stephanie Garber’s sweeping tale of two sisters who escape their ruthless father when they enter the dangerous intrigue of a legendary game.

Scarlett has never left the tiny island where she and her beloved sister, Tella, live with their powerful, and cruel, father. Now Scarlett’s father has arranged a marriage for her, and Scarlett thinks her dreams of seeing Caraval, the far-away, once-a-year performance where the audience participates in the show, are over.

But this year, Scarlett’s long-dreamt of invitation finally arrives. With the help of a mysterious sailor, Tella whisks Scarlett away to the show. Only, as soon as they arrive, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval’s mastermind organizer, Legend. It turns out that this season’s Caraval revolves around Tella, and whoever finds her first is the winner.

Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance. But she nevertheless becomes enmeshed in a game of love, heartbreak, and magic with the other players in the game. And whether Caraval is real or not, she must find Tella before the five nights of the game are over, a dangerous domino effect of consequences is set off, and her sister disappears forever.

Top Ten Tuesday: Favourite Reads of 2016

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This weeks Top Ten Tuesday theme is a freebie, so you can choose whatever you want to talk about. After much deliberation I have decided to talk about my favourite books that I read in 2016. I know it's a bit late, but I wanted to share them with you regardless. As always this list is in no particular order. Enjoy!

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 23-01

Hosted by The Book Date. Before you say anything I know I have been bad at posting! I've had deadlines for Uni and had to focus on getting them done. I have a few reviews that I need to get up and hopefully they will be in the next few days. Anyway, It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a meme where you talk about what you read last week, what you are currently reading and any upcoming reads.

Top Ten Tuesday : 2016 Releases I Still Need to Read

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. I've missed doing Top Ten Tuesdays so I'm really happy to be back doing them. This week is all about 2016 releases that I still need to read. I have a few, especially towards the end of 2016 when my reading went out the window slightly.

January TBR

Two posts in one day? Aren't you lucky! I am going to be doing a new TBR post at the start of each month. I know we are a week into January, but it still counts right? I'll just be sharing the title and the synopsis of each book. Feel free to let me know your TBR list for January, I'd love to hear them.

Christmas/New Year Book Haul

I am really happy to be posting again and hope to get back into a posting routine very soon. So, Christmas and New Year have been and gone and it's back to normality for all of us (which in a way is a good thing). For this post I wanted to share with you the books I have either received or brought between Christmas and New Year. I am hoping to do a haul post once a month from now on, as I have read others and find them really enjoyable to read. I won't go into much detail about each book, but will leave the links to each book's Goodreads and Amazon pages so you can check them out if you wish!

I'm Back! Happy 2017!

After a months hiatus I am back! I would like to apologise for going off the radar, firstly. Life just got too busy and I just couldn't cope with everything at once. It was upsetting having to take a back seat with regards to Amy's Bookish Life, but it couldn't be helped. However, I am back and will hopefully be posting 1 - 3 times a week and I cannot wait to get started again.

Moving on... HAPPY 2017! I can't believe that it is here already. I hope you all had a good start to the year. I spent New Years Eve at home in my onesie with James, eating pizza and watching films. I'm not the kind of person to go out and get drunk so it was perfect for me. Also watched the London Fireworks on the TV which looked amazing! As we are now in a new year I thought I would share my 2017 goals with you. It may be a bit cliche, but I want to share them. Hopefully I can achieve them all!
